Austin Iyengar Yoga at Energies Balanced
500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course
Why Choose our Program?
9 out of 10 people who have been certified to teach yoga do not feel confident enough to teach due to lack of actual teaching experience in their program. Our unique 500 hour yoga training/apprenticeship advanced studies program offers students an extensive knowledge of how to teach yoga asana with success and confidence. From the beginning of your training with us you will be teaching yoga asana to your fellow classmates and slowly progressing to having your own class of 10 - 20 students at a public event.
Along with over 100 hours of anatomy and physiology, and hands on training during your module training weekends and separate Energies Balanced yoga class apprenticeship sessions, you will be teaching at Energies Balanced Yoga Studio and events before graduating our program.
You will be taught therapeutic alignment principles in your asana training, along with prenatal instruction, misalignment issues such as scoliosis, joint issues, and other structural and visceral problems that the majority of society faces.
We understand that Yoga is much more than the asana, so we have incorporated a full yoga philosophy and pranayama course into our program. Our program also includes a 3-day immersion, where students will spend hours together training with their instructors in an all inclusive weekend at the Doss Ranch.
Our program provides students with many opportunities to teach the public in order to ensure wisdom and confidence in their teaching skills before graduating. After graduation, your program instructors will still be available to you through extended apprenticeships and mentor-ships. We also offer select students the ability to continue to teach with Energies Balanced after they graduate.
We provide you with the knowledge to have a sound Yoga teaching practice after you graduate from our program through our entrepreneurship side of our curriculum. Our entrepreneurship program will allow you to develop the skills to organize your own yoga classes, yoga retreats, yoga workshops, and other events. You will even have the knowledge to open up your own yoga studio if desired. For those of you who are not quite interested in teaching after graduating, this is still a very good way to deepen your Yoga practice from all levels.
This course is hands on with the majority time spent with your instructors. Our program requires a large amount of commitment and a strong dedication to learning. You must be teachable and able to understand and use constructive criticism. Our curriculum is high in intensity and does require you to spend time away from the class room performing such tasks as homework, volunteer activities and more, in order to keep up with certain program requirements. Please see the list below for program enrollment prerequisites.
Program Enrollment Prerequisites:
1. Attend yoga classes with a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher before enrollment.
2. Already certified teachers must fill out our placement discovery questionnaire below.
3. Have been practicing yoga asana for at least 6 months regularly.
