Full Weekend Ashtanga Yoga Workshop

The Eight Limbs


This workshop is for those who would like to learn more about the practice of Ashtanga Yoga on a fundamental level, if you have practiced or are a beginner.

  • This 12 hour workshop will be broken down into 5 classes. 
  • Each class is 2.5 hours long except the Friday, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm class. 
  • Each class is $35.00 per person. If you purchase a full weekend ticket your price is $150.00 ($25.00 Savings). Energies Balanced Teachers In Training may purchase a full weekend ticket at $140.00. 
  • Bring your own towels, everything else is provided. 
  • Classes require a minimum of 4 people in order to be held. If you sign up for a class and it does not make, you will be notified and refunded for that class.
  • Space is limited to  a maximum of 10 students, so early registration is recommended.
  • Note to EB Teachers In Training, you are required to attend at least two of the 5 classes to receive program credit.

Friday Feb. 26, 2016 at 6:00 pm-8;00 pm:

Bandhas, Pranayama, Philosophy, Meditation
Description:
Take a closer look at the 8 limbs:
Asta=8  Angani=limb (Ashtanga = Eight Limbs)  Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi.
Understand the Ujjayi Breath
Learn to engage the Banda Locks while seated and standing.
(This section of the workshop includes minimal asana.)

Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 from 11:00 am-1:30 pm:

Sun Salutations, Standing
Description:
Understand how the breath is to connect with the movement of the postures.

Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 from 3:30 pm-6:00 pm:

Seated, Back Bends and Vinyasa
Description:
Understand the connection of the vinyasa, the bandas and the posture.
Understand how to go deeper into backbends.

Sunday Feb. 28, 2016 from 10:00 am-12:30 pm:

Inversions, And A Glance At The Second Series
Description:
Learn how safely execute inverted postures.
Understand the progression of the primary series to the secondary series.

Sunday Feb 28, 2016 from 2:30 pm-5:00 pm:

Full Primary Series
Description:
This practice is full and uninterrupted.
This includes all poses including vinyasas, backbends inversions and meditation.
This is where we will integrate what we have learned into the practice.
